How do I get AmaroK to stream audio over an ssh connection?

Well the title really sais it all. Is there any easy, or non easy, way of sending an audiostream of mp3 (OBS! mp3) from one linux machine to another using amarok? fedora core 5 -> redhat enterprise via ssh?

The "xine Engine" is the one I'm using in order to play mp3, It has a "HTTP proxy for streaming" option...but I have no idear how to get that to work, and it's not ssh in any case.

I'd just like to be able to ssh to my home computer, start AmaroK, and hear the music at work! is it so much to ask for? is it?

Anyone helping me with this will be my new idol.

Thanks in andvance,

hey,

It's funny that I'm answering you in one thread whilst you're asking in another.

Anyhow, this link:

http://www.linux.ie/articles/streamingaudio.php

give's you a step-by-step to stream amarok, then you would use the ssh command I gave you, substituting the proper ports, and you're set.

cheers,

I think you might try the fish:/ KIO-Slave with the gstreamer engine. Since I've heard that gstreamer supports all KIO Slaves then this should work. Never tried this myself though.
