how do I edit the $PATH environment variable in RH7.3

Just downloaded j21.3.1.... from Sun. How do I modify the $PATH environment variable?

depnds how global and permanent you want it. persaonlly i'd say tack it onto the the end of /etc/bashrc

PATH=$PATH:/place/where/java/is

then everyone will have ti set autoamtically.

if u want it for just u

change ~/.bash_profile
