I have Samba set up and configured. I know it works because I can move files from my Windows XP server to my Feather Laptop quite efficiently with midnight commander. I can see the Debian Laptop (Feather) from the XP box but have no access to it. If I click on the Feather Laptop from XP box I am told that I have no access. How do I share "My Documents" with the Windows network so that I can access my files from other computers? P.S. "My Documents" is a directory that I created in /home/knoppix for my personal stuff. I am quite new so please give me "dummy directions" if you know how to fix this issue.

edit /etc/samba/smb.conf

add this in the shares section

[knoppix]
path = /home/knoppix
writable = yes

I would also add the browseable = yes to it as well

[knoppix]
path = /home/knoppix
writable = yes
browseable = yes
