how do I compile or build a src.rpm driver?

Hi! I am trying to install a network card driver from a src.rpm file.
The readme file says I should type rpm --rebuild filename.src.rpm to make a new rpm but that doesn't work. It only says "unknown flag --rebuild".
What should I do? Thanks!
