How do I access irc.freenode channel?

This is a real-time internet channel, right? Where I can try to coordinate getting a missing plugin added to my lmms and into synaptic.

Yeah but... why don't you simply ask the question about "How to install the X plugin to Linux MultiMedia Studio"? There are basically two questions there: One to install the plugin and the other you are asking how to use a IRC client.

Pidgin should have support for it straight away. Although, the easiest way would be for you to ask the question here, since this is a forum and you kinda know already what you need...
