Re: How can konqueror view html files in .gz & .bz2 files directly?

Konqueror certainly can explore inside .tar.gz and .tar.bz2 files as if they were directories, and open any file (html or otherwise) inside.

Do you mean how it does it in terms of implementation? Or do you mean it's not working for you?

Thank you very much!
and very sorry, i ask this question without trying it beforehand, and mixed .gz with .tar.gz.

and still: how can i view the manpage files *.gz in konqueror?

Type in man:<topic> in the address bar. info:<topic> may also work.
At the bottom of an info page it says:
Automatically generated by a version of info2html modified for KDE.

man2html is used as a filter by konqueror.

If you have an application launcher on your taskbar, you can enter
man:<topic>
or
info:<topic>
Into the application launcher to bring up a konqueror displaying the manpage.
I find this format to be easier to read and remember.
