Using rpm's is pretty easy to uninstall, but how can i uninstall software compiled from source?? I have tried to read lotta howto's in installing stuff on Linux. I cannot find anything regarding removing it, only upgrading or reinstalling. There must be a way - plz help.

Sometimes the Makefile in the source tree will have a "make uninstall" target - if not, you're out of luck, other than going around and removing each file manually. I build most of my software into .deb (can do the same with rpm) packages, then install those, rather than installing directly. That way, I can easily remove them at a later date.
