How Can I Remove 40 KDE Apps From My Computer?

In ubuntu 8.04, I updated my computer through Update Manager. To my great surprise, I had found an 'Other' folder in my menu filled with over 40 KDE apps. How can I remove all these apps from my system?

.

Make a note of the app names and input them into Synaptic and mark them for removal. Be careful to make sure removing them doesn't break your system by removing dependencies.

1) Hi, Nexus. I want to uninstall KDE and all KDE apps in my computer. But, I need to keep just 2 KDE apps. How can I do this?

2) You mentioned that I should make a note of the KDE apps before removing them in synaptic. But, there are so many apps. Not only that, I can't find these apps in synaptics. What do I do?

Do a search in synaptic for task-kde. If found mark that for removal again paying close attention to what will be removed. Chances are you will have to retain some element(s) of KDE in order to keep the 2 apps that you want. Are there no equivilent apps available for Gnome?
