Hello!

First you have to know witch partitions you have to mount fro the new hdd.
For this type:

su -
fdisk -l

Now you'll have to look for the partitions containing somewhere vfat. I think they will be something like hdbx, where x is a number.

Next you have to create 4 folders where the partitions will be mounted. I think in Suse they will be in /media, if not use /mnt instead.

mkdir /media/winpartition1
mkdir /media/fatpartition2
mkdir /media/fatpartition3
mkdir /media/fatpartition4

To mount them you'll have to assign a partition for a directtory.

mount -t vfat /mnt/hdb1 /media/fatpartition1
the rest will depend on your configuration, it should look like
mount -t vfat /dev/hdbx /media/fatpartitionx .... and so on.

To have the fat partitions mounted on each system start, you have to add this to the /etc/fstab file.
/dev/hdb1 /mnt/fatpartition1 vfat defaults 0 0
.....
.....
.....

Hope this helped!

Cheers, Boby

i have OpenSuse 10.2 and i'm trying to add a new harddisc.

It's NOT directly on the motherboard's IDE, but via a Parallel ATA Controller, that's newly added too.

Here's the info i get:
