try http://dcgui.berlios.de !!
or http://freshmeat.net/projects/dcgui-...ease_id=162947
!!!!

You can also have at Bittorrent!!

http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html

some people prefer Bittorrent.
I found DC-gui to be problematic when downloading but have not personally tried bittorrent. It has been well recommended tho and I plan on trying it soon.

Hi there

I can personally say that DCGUI-QT is a good program. I used to use DC++ and BCDC++ and have since found DCGUI-QT the only gui style dc program in linux, but there are many dc text based or console programs. btw the name is now Valknut(not dcgui) due to copyright or something and that name may change again, it is an ongoing issue, but the links are the same.

Just go to the site posted above and learn how to compile, get the latest cvs version as it has tabbed hubs etc. The support is excellent for this program. It is still under development but the guys doing the work are always available online in their own hub, to share and to help out with problems.

I highly reccomend it. But, please note that some hubs do not allow it because it allows multi threaded downloads and can do hub searches without being connected to those hubs.

Cheers
Asif

That's cool - I always had alot of problems downloading anything but I am not sure if that was my firewall. I have heard it was the same from other users trying it.

Did you have to do anything in particular to allow it access?

DC++ wine

Ive been fooling around with Dc++ .403 running with wine. It will run but has a bunch of bugs that I dont know the first thing about fixing. It would be cool if someone would take a look at this.
