How can I connect OpenOffice 3 to Oracle Database?

Hallo:

I'm using Kubuntu 8.04 and now I've installed OpenOffice 3, both in Spanish.

I have oracle client installed and can connect to Oracle databases with clients like tora.

What I try:
- Open Database and select connect to an existing database.
- Select Oracle JDBC.
- Next
- DatabaseName: I put the sid of the database of oracle. (orcl)
Server URL: The name of the server containing the database. It's resolved by a ping. (database.organization.es)
Port: 1521
- Oracle JDBC Driver:
oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
But I press the test button, I receive an error: JDBC Driver can't be loaded (really, the message is in spanish).

Whats wrong?

Thanks.

Hi -

It sounds like it's not finding your Oracle JDBC .jar file(s). Please make sure your Open Office CLASSPATH is set correctly:

http://user.services.openoffice.org/...p?f=13&t=10441

'Hope that helps .. PSM

Solved:

Sorry, I'd selected a wrong clasess.zip which didn't have the oracle jdbc driver.

Now, I've added classes12.jar which has the driver (opened the .jar and looked for the oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver.class) and it works fine.

Thanks.
