How can I change the key-map in a specific keyboard language?

I want to use the Bengali(Bangladesh) keyboard layout in Fedora core 6. But the default key-board layout doesn't match the layout I use in Windows. How can I change the key-map so that I can create a new layout with customized keys?

Have you tried using the bengali locale?

... they seem a tad out of date, you will probably use xorg now instead of xfree86.

But bengalinux.org looks very helpful.

You can create custom keyboard layouts using xkb:

What dekstop are you using?
With kde I setup the language on the kcontrol from the keyboard layout, but I do not know if the bengalese option is available

Yeah, this is what I need. Thanks a lot.
The other two links are useful, too.
