How can I can compile Wine if I'm not root

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how can I get wine (or any other good exe emulator for Linux) If I'm not root.
I am Using Debian. I dont have windows installed on my PC.
I dont have any root priviliges meaning that I cant add or change any file outside my main directory ( I cant touch anything in / ; /ect ; /share ; /lib ; /usr ...).
I tried compiling Wine but I can't install Rpm packages (I dont think I have Red Hat) .
So I tried installing alien to convert rpm to deb but my system doesnt understand : $ apt-get

Can anyone please help.
thank u

If you can touch anything in / , /usr/ , /etc/ /lib/ - I have bad nes, but you're not compiling anything. You don't have access to any libraries.

AT the command line, type

su

Then enter the root password at the prompt.

You will *be* root in that window until you type "exit" or close the window.

you could do it if you modified all your environmental variables pretty easily. The problem is since you don't have root priveleges and your using an rpm based distro you won't be able to install the packages you need to compile it in the first place ( This is assuming you probably don't have all of the -devel packages and development tools)).
