how can i blank dvd-rw completly?


Hi,
Is there any program or command to blank dvd-rw completly? When i click format dvd-rw in k3b, it does not do anything.

Have you installed dvd+rw-tools? Because k3b use this to burn dvds.
Anyway if you have installed it you can run from CLI:
Code:
dvd+rw-format /dev/dvd
to format the disk, or
Code:
growisofs -Z /dev/dvd=/dev/zero
to blank the disk
