Question how can capture&edit video

Good day everyone online!!!
I Have ATI Radeon 9000 VIVO.
How can I use my(radeon's) VIVO(video-in&video-out) functions in Linux.
What programmes are available to use VIVO and to edit video movies (like Adobe Premier or Ulead Media Studio for Windows).

Not sure about the device but...

One of the best video editing/capture packages going is cinelerra. It is very high quality, with all of the features. The capture works very well, better than I have seen on windows on my machine.

Others seem to like kino, which captures dv as a specialty.
