Hotwayd not working on Mandrake 9.1
Hello,
I'm trying to install a program called hotwayd (hotwayd.sourceforce.net) and although i do all the steps it doesn't seem to want to work, it doesn't seem to want to connect to the host after i have done all the steps. I would enter there forums, and i will if i get no response here, but i have such a problem remembering passwords and user names i will just try and keep with LQ! Any positive posts would be good - and if you asking am i sure i haven't done something wrong, well how sure can a newbie be? :-) Thanks in advance, Linz P.S if anyone knows of a better mail grabber that Hotwayd or one which is easy to use, contact me either here or on my email (lordhesketh_v1000@hotmail.com) |
I'm having the same problem in Slack so I'll watch this thread hoping for some help. If you figure it out, post what you did and I'll do the same.

Anyone know of a good alternative to Hotwayd?
Hi,
Im still having no luck with Hotwayd, anyone know of a good alternative? Linz |
What is hotwayd? I went to their site and found nothing but links to other sites. Its like their a portal to other websites. Didn't find any downloads or anything relevant to what your asking. Got any other links to a possible download or if there is a page that describes "hotwayd" software and what it does?

Hi Tricky Kid,
Hotwayd is a supposed to be and application which allows you to download from a webmail account using a mail client (other than outlook express or outlook) to download your hotmail messages. I found this at http://hotwayd.sourceforge.net/ and downloaded it, the latest versions of libxml2 and libxml2-devel and installed them all, i then followed the steps on (on there site) to set howayd up as a mail server, howver it didnt work for me, there only help was to re do the steps (which i did a few times) but it still wont work. Thanks for you interest and help., Linz |
