Hotwayd and Fedora Core 4 problems
Hello:
I am not quite a newbie, but probably close. I am running 3 linux boxes, RH9, Fedora Core 2, and Fedora Core 4. I have Hotwayd running on RH9 and Fedora Core 2 perfectly, but on my new Fedora Core 4 I cannot get it installed. I first compiled the code and installed manually: ./configure make make install and then editted the xeintd.conf file to include the service parameters. This install placed hotwayd and hotsmtp in /usr/local/sbin/ folder. I editted the service to direct to this place. This fails to load hotwayd. Netstat -lp reports no device listen to pop3. Then I probably made a mistake. I deleted the hotwayd and hotsmtp files that were installed and tried to install the FC2 rpm file. It installed to /usr/sbin and I editted the xeintd.conf file appropriately. This did not work. Now the rpm file if you attempt to re-install states hotwayd states already installed. If you type hotwayd-x.rpm -e it states hotwayd is not installed and cannot be removed. At any rate, hotwayd will not load on the FC4 machine. Any thoughts? How do I get rid of the FC2 install? How do I get hotwayd to work under FC4. Thanks, Ross ross_contino@contindo.com |
