hotswap ultrabay and suspend/hibernate on thinkpad

i've got kanotix 2.6.14-kanotix-9 installed on my thinkpad T22. i'm still trying to get ultrabay hotswapping figured and and i'd also like to get hibernate/suspend working. i've got 'hotswap' installed, but i'm really clueless as to how to configure the hotswaprc file, if that's the only thing holding me back. i think i can stop the current device in the ultrabay, but i'm not sure how to get the next device started, as when it needs scsi emulation, i.e. cd-rom and zip drive. any ideas as to where to look? i've not had much luck googling. any good sources out there for how-to on configuring suspend/hibernate? thanks for any help.
