I am installing Oracle 11i on my Linux AS 4.0 and validate system configuration fails at Host/Domain Check.

Here's my /etc/sysconfig/network file
------------------------------------------------------
[root@mylx1 /]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=mylx1
[root@mylx1 /]#

and /etc/hosts file looks like
-----------------------------------------
[root@mylx1 /]# cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.xxx.x.xxx mylx1

[root@mylx1 /]# hostname
mylx1
[root@mylx1 /]#

Can some one tell me what's wrong in here.

Just a wild guess, but if hostname -f or hostname -a fails with hostname: Unknown host error message, then this post: http://linux.dsplabs.com.au/hostname...error-fix-p52/ will help. Try the following in your /etc/hosts file:

#127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 mylx1.domain.local mylx1
192.xxx.x.xxx mylx1
