Good day all,

I have an installation of SuSE 9.1 that has been working fine for about two weeks. Last evening I compiled some code and ran SuSEconfig. I started receiving the following warning.

Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.libxml2...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.news...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.OpenOffice.org...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.pango...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.perl...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.permissions...
/var/spool/atspool: unknown user at
/var/spool/atjobs/.SEQ: unknown user at
/var/spool/atjobs: unknown user at
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.postfix...
*** WARNING ***
Found /etc/postfix/master.cf.SuSEconfig, exiting...
*** WARNING ***
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.profiles...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.scpm...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.sortpasswd...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.susehelp...
Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.xdm...
Finished

While researching this I came across this when running postsuper.

My hostname linux is not a fully qualified name - set myhostname or mydomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf

I am not sure what this means. That is the correct name for my localhost, linux.

Thoughts??

David

A fully qualified hostname is something like linux.mynewdomain.com. If I'm ever asked for a fully qualified hostname, I just put josh.home.com (or just josh.home if it lets me). But FC2 hasn't asked me for one, but older red hats and a few others have during setup.
