horde can't creat log file

Hi i just copy the old horde files into my new machine,
but i found when i login to my mail, it said
Warning: touch(): Unable to create file /var/log/horde.log because Permission denied in /usr/share/pear/Log/file.php on line 119

i have no idea what it talking about. anyone can give me some hides?

the user you are running horde as doesn't have access to that directory, /var/log/.

Yes,
i guess the horde is running as the httpd server permission. right ??
and the /var/log can only write by root ....
i think i can change the permission of /var/log to wirteable by httpd server, but it is not good...........
is there any other way to solve it ??
i am checking the file.php code in pear ..... but still hv no cue ...
pls. help .....
