high performace cd ripping and encoding

Does anyone get performance similar to iTunes or WMP for CD encoding in linux ?

Whatever I try (lame, bladeenc in grip and other kaudiocreator) is 2,3 times slower on my XP1900 than on my 867Mhz powerbook. Is it just me ?

When using Grip check

config->rip->disable paranoia and disable extra paranoia

It will prevent rereading of same track end gain up ripping speed.
Also there is disable scratch detection/repair.

Of course all these might affect quality of ripping in case of old CD.

I had same problem - that was the solution.

Best
