high availability / clustering solution

hello

I am looking for a good HA solution primarily for service fail-over (with VIP), no storage.

I have looked at linux-ha/clusterlabs but the documentation is not that great and after spending days still don't understand half of it.

I want to get some suggestions on which ones are good solutions out there.
I have heard of luci/ricci but not tried it yet.

What do you guys recommend?

Thank you!

Might look at Suse enterprise stuff. They have a 60 day trial of the HA solution.

RH offers a solution too. I can't say how much of that is available in Centos/Scientific/Oracle linux.

Is this for a single node server setup?

It is for Active/Passive 2-node setup.

Sorry should have mentioned I'm looking for a free solution.
I guess its between luci and pacemaker then.

Is luci/ricci any easier to understand and set up than pacemaker?

I haven't tried either so I'm not sure.

Maybe watching the video on installing and setting up Luci/ricci will help you to determine the ease of comprehending. Documentation normally works for me but sometimes I have to re-read what I have already read.
