I just installed linux mandrake on a pc with with 98 to dual boot. My windows partition has an A,C,D,E,F and G drive.
After I loaded Linux I got LILO at boot up and can go fine into Linux but windows 98 just hangs. So I went into Lilo and edited the
windows boot command line in grub and was able to unhide the windwos partition, but only the
C drive comes up, not the otehr extended partitions in windows. Then when I restart Lilo does not come up, only grub and I have to then unhide the linux partition, restart and then LILO
comes up to start linux. I need Lilo to fully recognize
both Linux and Windows partitions. What is going on.

which one are you using then? lilo or grub?

with lilo wee need to know where windows and linux are installed, which hard drive?

windows is usually at the begining of the first drive (it gets annoyed if it isn;t). in /etc/lilo.conf it's section should have a line with /dev/hda (which is the master primary disk).

tells us the above information and maybe i can help.

HIdden Partition

It is grub with the gui interface actually. When I edit at boot the configuration it takes me to a GRUB propmpt. There are all on one ide dev/hda drive partitioned for windows first (with 3 extended partition for a total of 30 Gig for windows) and Linux on the second with 10 gigs. Windows is made the active partition. Thanks for the help. It is strange cause I can get to both of them (although it is hard) but when I got to windows finally after forever at the grub propmt I only saw the C partition for windows.
