You want help on using LILO/GRUB?
Those are the two most popular boot-loaders for use with Linux. If you search the forums for "dual-boot" you'll see quite a few threads about it |
hi, dual boot
i want to use lilo boot loader.
|
I looked around a little bit on line b/c I was curious as to how one adds a boot loader after the initial install (I have always just installed grub during the install) and it looks to me that one only need to boot into linux with your boot disk and then open a x-term and I assume as root:
#/sbin/lilo reboot. Now this was a cursory search and I don't have a test machine I would be willing to try this on but the man page seems to confirm this. Good Luck! and let us know how you make out. |
To configure LILO, and I assume it is distro-unspecific, the command is generally "liloconf"
|
I know you might not like this but i would reinstall redhat, and place the bootloader lilo/grub in the MBR. Then you should have a dual boot system. Where you'll be able to choose an os you want to boot. Or check out a program called bootpart http://www.winimage.com/bootpart.htm you may have some luck with it"I never used it though". But i heard it works.

MoJo is right...that would be the most user friendly way to go look at this thread:
