(HelpMe!!!) Cant telnet ports(25&110)
I use Mandrake. I dont use any mail server (qmail,sendmail etc).Have a Courier Server, that takes mails from an email from internet. But under Linux Courier cant connect to mail.lviv.ua (25 port and 100 port). Have no nat under Linux. Have a ShoreWall that use iptables. Shorewall can Masquerade and many other. What can i do to work under this properly?
Help me please. 2 weeks i try to do it - but unsaccesfully.

Are you using the standard "telnetd" daemon? If so, did you set up your /etc/hosts.allow correctly to allow incoming telnet connections?

If I understand you correctly you just want to use telnet to make sure the ports are listening? Are you sure shorewall isn't blocking this traffic?

No. Problem is : Courier mail, that is installed on windows machine - cannot connect to server mail.lviv.ua on port 25 and 110 threw Mandrake

So the Mandrake machine is not forwarding to the Windows machine?

MayBe. Can you give me example HowTo - because i was trying many times by iptables, shorewalls... But nothings work.

could this be a case of you having the best isp in the world that blocks those ports i know my isp is also one of the best in the worl as they also block many ports
