Help with sync ranges on the Xorg.conf file

I installed Slackware 10.0 on my Dell Dimension 2400 and it has an EDID of DelD005. The problem is the "startx" function does not work, no matter how many times i configure my xorg.conf file. Once I did manage to have a small script of screen at the top but the rest was blank. I think this might be a problem with the sync ranges/refresh rates. Can anyone help me?

Did you try to run xorgconfig?

Check /var/log/Xorg.0.log for errors related to the X server session.
