Help with Steam (used the howto from linux-gamers)

I went through the howto in an attempt to get steam running on my Linux system. I got through everything fine all the way up to the steam installation. It installed alright, it seemed, and it even updated steam, but it wont go any further. When I run the program it says something like

(Main Exception) cannot load library Steam.dll

I know the DLL us in the same folder (my wine fake_windows folder like it should be) with steam.exe so Im not sure why it isnt loading it. Can anybody help here?
