I installed Mandrake 7.2 the other day and when it got finished it asked to restart. I restarted it and all, and now when it starts to load the OS at the beginning of my boot of my PC, it gets to a certain point and just sits there with a blinking thing at the bottom where you should be able to type something, only you can't. I did a lnx4win install, because it's the only one that will work when I try to install it without the cdrom completely stopping during the hardware detection. Anyways, how can I get it to stop freezing and let me freaking get into Linux? I haven't even gotten to see what the thing looked like, and I just bought the thing, so I know it is in working condition. Thanks for any help.

To be honest with you I don't have a clue about lnx4win and wouldn't recomend it either, but is it only Linux you can't boot or both WinME and Linux?

I don't know if lnx4win is quite suitable for ME, but again I am not sure.

If I was you I would try to install Mandrake again to its own partition and then try to change settings to stop the Cd from stopping completely.

Nevermind the question

Don't worry about it, I've figured it out myself, and in the meantime deleted an entire partition which WinME was on, so no more WinME for me until Compaq sends me the cd they're charging me 10 bucks for. Thanks anyways.
