Help with licq

Hello all,

I finally got a icq number after having it sit usless on my harddrive. Of course it doesn't work.

Whenever I try to logon I get:

16:54:43: [ERR] Unable to sign on: NewServer: (null), cookie: (null).

Any help to get this thing online would be great. . .

TIA

Sorry, I should know better than to leave such an uninformative post!!

I am using Redhat 8 on a crusty old K6 233. I am using the licq that came with redhat, it's version 1.2.0/SSL. Qt GUI plugin version 1.2.0.

A popup gives me the error above, and the error log has the same thing plus a bunch of nonsense that looks like binary? I can post that too if you want. I get the pop up shortly after I try to change my status to "online"

I already scoured the licq website and mailing list archives to no avail. I checked the config files and the logon.icq.com server is correct.

herm.... it's the same version as me, it's a very strange error. Stupid question but... are you sure you are connected to the internet?
Post the complete error msg here, I will take a look at it.

He he, I'm talking to you aren't I?

The only thing I can think of is perhaps a firewall issue? Either that or the login server is pooched. . .can you connect ok?

Here's the log:

It goes on and on, but it's the same, just the different times I tried to logon.

Thanks. . .

I can logon ok... I really dunno this error. I suggest you to get the latest CVS and to reinstall it, from source, if possible.
