help with blender

hello, i have a object in blender thats not rendering .... its a circle that i extruded a few times to make it look like a spear ... the trouble is that a object that is touching it is being rendered when i press F12 (a plane extruded into a rectangle), non of the objects have had material/texture put on them tho ... so I'm wondering why blender insists on leaving this object out
