is there a way to get firefox to upgrade itself? instead of downloading the whole thing anew, time and again, and installing it. I wouldn't even know where to install it to nor how to find out...
Which version are running now? The newest, 1.5 or 1.5.1 can update itself, not just the extenions and themes. But most of the versions before that can only update the themes and extentions for you.
ver 1.0.7 which is in the sources list like that (freshly installed breezy badger). and It seems I am unable of installing the new version, as I can't find an install or configure file.
Until version 1.5, firefox did not have an updater. They added that with the advent of 1.5, which means EVERY version you had to do a full reinstall ove rthe top to save settings. It was a pain.
Then came version 1.5, which now has an updater. And it is good.
