Help re installing NVu under Fedora 3

Can someone help me please? I am trying to install NVu 1.0 under Fedora 3 and downloaded 'nvu-1.0-pc-fedora3-kde.tar.bz2' from the NVu website. Using #bunzip2 this became 'nvu-1.0-pc-fedora3-kde.tar'. I then ran 'tar xvf ...' and ended up with a new directory 'nvu-1.0'.

Now I believe I have to run 'make' and then 'make install' or something similar but I can't find any INSTALL or README files or a 'Make.in' , 'Imake' or 'Make' file. There is a 'nsinstall' file which is executable but what do I do with it? I am doing all this as root. And, yes, I am old in years (well sort of) but young with Linux.

Thanks
John

That does seem abit odd. I checked it out and did see a couple of possibilities.
The one called nvu might work if you use the command: ./nvu
There is also a file that looks something like run.mozilla.sh ??? I can't remember exactly how that one is titled but you can run those files with the command: sh run.mozilla.sh

Or you could go back to the download site and get the rpm files which should be easy enough to install using the command: rpm -Uvh nvu-1.0.rhel4.fs.i386.rpm

http://nvu.com/download.html

# nvu-1.0.rhel4.fs.i386.rpm - RedHat Enterprise Linux 4, Fedora Core 3 and Fedora Core 4. It includes the kde icons in site-manager and requires kds libraries. Contributed by Fridrich Strba.
# nvu-1.0-1_nokde.rhel4.fs.i386.rpm - RedHat Entreprise Linux 4, Fedora Core 3, and Fedora Core 4 without KDE. Contributed by Fridrich Strba.

Thanks Homey,

As you suggested I tried ./nvu and lo and behold the program ran! Didn't I feel stupid!

Anyway tonight when I get home I will try to move the directories to a better place and see how it runs as a normal user and not root.

Thanks for you help.

Cheers

John
