I have problem which I dont know to solve and because that I need your help. If someone know how I to solve problem, please help me.

I have in my server RH linux installed mencoder and I need video_out jpeg device installed, but I dont have it installed. How I to install jpeg device into mencoder vodeo_out?

I use "mencoder -vo help" and dont see that it is installed. Too, when I try to make some pictures from video file "mencoder -vo jpeg file.avi", I get error message that I havent device (I think that mean jpeg device) installed.

Please help me.

the mencoder version u have was NOT compiled with jpeg libraries. Install jpeg-development libraries as root. then recompile mplayer/mencoder

I am novice in linux, how to do this?

Use add/remove programs and search for jpeg-* (generally it should be jpeg-devel or something like that).

Then go to mplayerhq.hu and see installation details.

I do what you tell me but now I have new problem, when I use "mlayer -vo" command it work but when use "mencoder -vo" command all time I get this error:

-vo is not an MEncoder option

Exiting... (error parsing command line)


Please, why this happen?

-vo is for mplayer
-ovc is for mencoder

man mencoder

scroll down and you will see all options.
