help installing mplayer on suse 9


i want to install mplyer on suse 9, but i encounter a problem that it cannot find gtk and glib, s o when i run ./configure --enable-gui, it stop when it's checking glib or gtk version. but actually i have gtk and glib installed. what should i do to make it recognize gtk and glib??

Did you install gtk-devel?

you need the devel versions of both also which mplayer version are you trying to install and check the needet glib and gtk versions and the installed ones on your system maybe you need a update

i would try becauce when i search using yast , i only have gtk2-devel installed.

The GUI needs GTK 1.2.x, I don't think they are backward compatible.
But you cann install both (I've got both installed and mplayer uses the 1.2.x version).
Get it from: ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk
