Help installing Linux on Compaq..
 

<b>I Currently Installed Red Hat 9 into my Compaq Machine using Windows Xp Home.
The install went fine, everything ok.
But the next time i chosed Windows XP in the boot loader, compaq automatically throws me into their "Recovery System".
I Did all the partitions right, what am i doing wrong?
I installed linux on a slave Hard drive and the primary is running windows xp.
I dont understand if i did everything fine, please help!

Maybe it believes that your linux boot loader (lilo or grub) is a boot-sector virus? Even though you installed linux on the slave drive, lilo or grub looks to have been installed on the primary drive since it shows up at boot and you're no doubt still booting from the C drive, right? If you can get to the bios setup screen maybe there's an option there where you can turn off boot sector virus checking or something similar to that.
