You mean you have your MDK 9.1 as a router for your internet connection?

you need to enable IP masquerading and add the win 98 host to your /etc/hosts file in order for the machine to actually see it in the LAN (this does not mean you can share files), also you can edit your ichains in /etc/sysconf/ipchains and add the following:

Where it says:
:forward ACCEPT
-P forward DENY
-A forward -i ppp0 (<<-- this is your interface) -s <your LAN network here>/<subnet mask> -j MASQ
: output ACCEPT

Edit your /etc/sysctl.conf file to allow ipv4 forwading (change it to 1)
Lastly, edit /etc/sysconfig/network to look like this:
NETWORKING=yes
FORWARD_IPV4=yes
HOSTNAME=<your hostname here> (you can set it under /etc/hosts)
DOMAINNAME=<write here if you have one>
GATEWAY=<you can either comment the line preceding it with "#" or leave it blank>
GATEWAYDEV=ppp0 <our internet interface.>

This information is assuming you have an aDSL/Cable/Dial up connection, if your connection has another format... well I cannot help you there. Also if you like to use iptable more than ipchains... well... I do not know how to set it up to forward and masquerade
