HELP: I cannot mount my filesystem.


Help, I cannot mount my filesystem.
Below are the commands and the results.

Any suggestions or help will be very much appreciated.

$ mount /dev/hda3 /data
mount: you must specify the filesystem type

$ mount /dev/hda3 /data -t vfat
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda3,
or too many mounted file systems

$ tune2fs -j /dev/hda3
tune2fs 1.34 (25-Jul-2003)
tune2fs: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/hda3
Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock.

$ fdisk -l
Disk /dev/hda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 1 9 72261 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda2 * 10 618 4891792+ 83 Linux

$ df -hT

$ cat /etc/fstab
/dev/hda1 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/hda2 / ext3 defaults 1 1
/dev/hda3 /data ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0

your /dev/hda3 is not a fat filesystem, it is a ext3 so to mount it type:

mount /dev/hda3 /data -t ext3

or (because of /etc/fstab)

mount /dev/hda3
