It seems you want to get rid of the Linux. Then XP will do the this for you. Just boot from the XP CD, remove the partition and then create a new one to install XP on it.
Before this you may want to run fdisk/mbr.

To get rid of the bootloader, have a look here for several options:
http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2002/0...tall_grub.html

The rest should be possible to remove with any kind of partitioner (I would be surprised if the XP installer doesn't allow to format an existing partition).

OK. Forget fdisk/mbr.

Please insert the XP CD into the CD-ROM drive and boot. You'll reach a place where you can play with the partitions. If you want and it suits you DELETE all the partitions and then create new one (this will REMOVE everything from your hard drive). XP must manage all these things.

Come back for help

I don't know if we should allow people to ask for help **removing** linux......;);)

Seriously, the XP installer should be able to put Windows on ANYTHING.

If you ever want a bullet-proof solution, get Darik's Boot and Nuke. This handy little utility fits on a bootable floppy and does all kind of disk wipes including some of the mil-spec routines used for classified data.
