Unhappy HELP!!! Compiling Hexen for AMD64

HI.

I have just downloaded the source code and make files for hexenGL which I am trying to compile on my AMD64 machine. When I run make I get a few problems which I have dealt with myself, however this one has me stumped. This is the output from the make:

gcc am_map.c -o obj/am_map.o -c -DNORANGECHECKING -DVER_ID="BCP" -g -O3 -U__i386 -D_REENTRANT -I. -DSNDSERV -Ix11 -Iopengl -DRENDER3D
am_map.c: In function ‘AM_activateNewScale’:
am_map.c:141: error: can't find a register in class ‘AREG’ while reloading ‘asm’
am_map.c:142: error: can't find a register in class ‘AREG’ while reloading ‘asm’
make: *** [obj/am_map.o] Error 1

The file and lines it refer to in that file are this:

void AM_activateNewScale(void)
{
m_x += m_w/2; 139
m_y += m_h/2; 140
m_w = FTOM(f_w); 141
m_h = FTOM(f_h); 142
m_x -= m_w/2; 143
m_y -= m_h/2; 144
m_x2 = m_x + m_w; 145
m_y2 = m_y + m_h; 146
}

The numbers to the right I have stuck in to show which lines the error is responding to, any help is greatly appreciated.
