Help! Chmod crazed!

Got this problem:

I installed Fedora on system with Mandrake and Windows.

I need to have the Win partition accessible from Linux. So mounted it as /data and changed chmod to 777 for it. It works perfect under Mandrake but Fedora seems to have problem with it. Every time I change rights to 777, it automatically sets rights back to 755.

I tried to turn SELinux off, but that didnt help-

I gues it's because it's a read-only partition.
