yes. I am still trying to run hdparm to check. I will try your suggestion by entering the line and just restart. Will let you know. Thanks.

:-) Hey hammerstein02, where did you get the command? It's just like you said, the dvd worked great without lag. Thanks a lot!

Hey,
Glad it helped. I actually got it from asking in #linuxhelp on one of the IRC chats.. I have found them a very useful source so far along with this site.
