having problems w/ dual boot

OK I've got Linux installed and now I'm trying to get dual boot set up. Everything's fine until I attempt to boot Win2K Pro. At this point I think 'dows attempts to mount my Linux hard drive. My computer then says bad things about my mother and reboots. Does anybody know a way around this?
thanx,
James
