well personally i have had it installed, but it never went further than that cause i decided to blow out my drive and re-install ... so i never actually tested it ... but to actually get it installed and actually open the steam client i have did that .. just never played ...
but i have seen many get it to work without problems, but i also see many try and fail ...
as of your question "would you recommend it"
well if you really want to play then i recommend it
if its no big deal and you don't really wanna play all that much other than the odd time, well i still recommend you try

well that probably has something to do with not having your video drivers installed ....
which you need to install to get 3d acceleration ...
so what card do you have ?
