Exclamation hardware direct virtualization

are there any "virtualization/emulation" programs that allow a guest OS direct access to your GPU and sound card? i'm looking at running directX games on a linux host using win XP as a guest OS, but all the software i've used all reject Direct X because they don't emulate a 3d graphics card or allow direct access to my hardware, could someone direct me with this, i'd be willing to pay for such software

That doesn't exist AFAIK. The closest you can get is Cedega which allows you to run many windows DirectX games on linux using a commercially modified version of wine. You don't have to install a guest windows OS with wine or Cedega. Wine is more a translation layer which takes windows system calls and translates them into linux system calls with varying degrees of success. Cedega is specifically geared toward running windows games on linux and includes some proprietary elements not available from the wine project. Before you spend money on cedega, check their compatibility chart to make sure it will run the games you want:
