Hello, I wanted to move my data from my 120G hard drive to an 80G drive. I resized the larger partition so I could copy it over to the other drive using the gParted Live CD. Now when it boots up, it freezes up when it says

Mounting root file system...

When I boot it in recovery mode, it says
Quote:
|
Kernal Panic - not syncing: I/O error when reading memory image
|
Further up the screen, it says

attempt to read beyond end of device

I'm guessing that it is reporting the image size to be roughly 118GB when it is now less than 80GB. I'm thinking I could boot up to the Ubuntu DVD and run some sort of disk scanning utility. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.
