LinuxQuestions.org - HAL build problem

HAL 0.5.7 make stops with this error:

I'm using Vector Linux SOHO 5.0.1, which is based on Slackware 10.1. I've got kernel 2.6.15.6 -- though it was originally 2.4.29, and I believe it's the 2.4.29 headers HAL used.
