I'm running openSuSE 11.1, KDE 4.1, Thunderbird 2.0.0.19. I can open JPEG attachments using GIMP, but that's over-kill. I'd like to be able to use Gwenview when all I want is a quick look rather than Absolute Control (which is most of the time, in e-mail at least).
However, when I right-click a JPEG attachment and tell Thunderbird to open it with Gwenview, nothing happens, other than the input window closing. I find myself looking at the e-mail message again, but nothing's happening with the attachments.
I found a forum entry, elsewhere, that recommended installing an add-on called OpenAttachmentsByExtension, so I tried that, configuring my prefs.js file as directed by the add-on, but got no different result than before.
Anyone have any ideas what's going on and how to make this work? Or, alternatively, a simple photo-viewing application that will work with my OS-KDE-T'bird combination?
