GUI not starting up

Hey, I installed suse 10.2 on my machine and everything was working perfectly until I installed MythTV and rebooted my machine, since that my GUI loads up in black screen for 2 seconds with the "loading" clock in the middle then switches back to a terminal (tty1).
Any idea why that happened and how to fix it?

Thanks

First, we need some kind of insight as to what is happening. Once you have been kicked back to tty1, try running "startx" as root to start the X windows system. If something is failing, it should print the error messages to the screen.

You could also try uninstalling MythTV and see if that fixes the problem, but I would consider this as a last resort; after all, you want to keep MythTV, otherwise you wouldn't have installed it in the first place.

Good Luck,
~Justin

the first thing i did actually was uninstall MythTV and reboot and still nothing, I ran startx and here's the log from it, at the end i had to ctrl-c because the gui just froze there doing nothing.

This could be the source of the problem, since it doesn't kill out but just freezes. Installing MythTV could have possibly spoiled your KDE installation somehow. Try reinstalling KDE or run 'kdm' and choose a different session than KDE.
