GTK problem. help please.

checking for pkg-config... (cached) /usr//bin/pkg-config
checking for GTK+ - version >= 2.0.3... no
*** Could not run GTK+ test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK+ is incorrectly installed.

I get this error when trying to configure xchat, first it didnīt find GLIB but after a few days i figured that to make GLIB to work i have to add glibs *.pc files to the pkg-config path so it can find them.

But as soon as i got it fixed i get this message, and iīve been trying to find anykind of pc files which belong to GTK but there isenīt any. I suppose i have to fix it someother way.

Anyone who could help me to solve this problem?

Do you have Gtk2 installed even? Or do you have an older version? Its looking for version 2.0.3 in which most likely you will need to compile xchat.

/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.2.0/

yes, apperently it is version 2.2 , but i donīt know how to configure it to work properly.
